Posted on July 26, 2012 at 5:35 PM

Pine cones can be used in numerous ways to make fun and festive decorations. Small pine cones can be grouped into displays. Larger pine cones can be turned into miniature Christmas trees.

Supplies:

One or more large pine cones

Green paint, spray or bottle

White paint, bottle

Gold, copper or silver paint, spray or bottle

Paper-type disposable bowl

Paint brushes

Glue, white or craft

Colored pom-poms

Glitter

Place the pine cone on newspaper or a protected surface. Cover it completely in green paint and allow it to dry.

Once the green paint has dried, paint the tips of the "branches" with white paint.

Wjile the tree is drying, paint the bowl - upside down -  with a gold, silver or copper colored paint.

When the bowl has dried, glue the pine cone to the top.

Add small pom-poms for decorations or add glitter. A star can be attachd to the top if desired.
